First, an overview of the "Selle Francais": CLICK HERE TO VIEW OUR STALLION VIDEO NO THANKYOU, PLEASE TAKE ME DIRECT TO YOUR STALLIONS The Selle Francais is the epitome of what a sport horse should be, athletic, strong with good bone and muscle, and intelligent with a tractable disposition. Primarily known for its excellence in show junping, the versatile Selle Francais also excels in dressage and eventing.
Today's Selle Francais is the result of generations of selective breeding in France, which has produced a horse of exceptional athletic ability, keen intelligence and willing disposition. This careful breeding program has proven itself time and time again, with Selle Francais horses consistantly being among the top competitors. In 1999, Baloubet du Roulet, a Selle Francais by Galoubet, won the World Cup of Show Jumping for the second year in a row. In the United States, the Selle Francais gelding, Twist du Valon, by Narcos II (full brother to Mazarin V) was the AGA horse of the year for 1998. Selle Francais horses have competed on the Olympic show jumping teams of many countries. In addition to the success of Selle Francais horses shown by professional riders, the breed is particularly well suited for amateur and junior riders. As 'people' horses, Selle Francais are often the most fun horses in the barn: happy to interact with both people and other horses, and loving attention. They are generally willing, easily trainable, quick learners, forgiving of mistakes made by their riders, and big hearted with a 'can-do' attitude. In North America today, breeders are fortunate to have access to some of the most sought after blood in sport horses: Ibrahim, Alme, The Last Orange, Cor de la Bryere, Furioso, Inschallah, and Fairplay III ... to name just a few. Tomorrow's show horses begin with decisions made by today's dedicated breeder. Breed the best: breed "SELLE FRANCAIS". |
