ILIAN DE TAUTE

Selle Francais Stallion

Ilian de Taute is the ONLY son of Narcos II standing in North America!

Fact File:

Height: 17.0 hh

Colour: Mahogany Bay

Markings: Black Points

DOB: 02 May 1996

Bone: 9.5"

Temperament: An athlete and a gentleman, easy to deal with, a real "people" horse that just loves to work, a very quick learner who wants to give his best every single time. He is the epitome of what a quality sport horse should be.

Progeny: Ilian's first foals were born in 2002. All his foals have inherited his superior conformation, good bone and elevated movement. They all have wonderful temperaments and love people. These foals have been out of both TBs and Warmbloods. Ilian is definitely an 'Improvement' stallion. In 2003, an Ilian foal won the prestigious Canadian Warmblood Foal Futurity (on-the-line class) for $10,000. His 4 year old son “P.S. I Love You” has just been crowned 2007 Canadian National Licensing Champion. Ilian’s eldest off spring are now 5 years old and are having great success in the ring across all three disciplines. None of this is surprising given Ilian's genetic ISO & Blup index, as he is genetically pre-disposed to perform at the international level and produce top performers.

Achievements: Born in France, Ilian de Taute was one of the top 4 year-old stallions in 2000. He placed 16th out of the 616 stallions presented, earning himself 'Elite' status at the show jumping finals in Fontainebleue. Ilian was one of only 8 stallions that were awarded 'Elite' status. In 2000, Ilian had 13 out of 14 double clear rounds. Ilian has a Blup of +20 and an ISO of 129, which is exceptional for a 4 year-old. Ilian's 'Elite' premium, performance testing and pedigree, as well as his superior conformation, earned him full approved Selle Francais breeding status at an early age. Ilian de Taute would have been going to the Belgian National Stud to improve their breeding program for 2001 if he had not come to Canada.
2001 Results: Ilian had a successful 2001 season in Canada, competing in training-level eventing and low/medium preliminary jumper.
2002 Results: Ilian has had a phenomenal season, placing almost every time out. He is proving to be fast & careful, and is well on the way to becoming a 'big time' horse. Ilian won 5 jumper division championships, was the Triple Crown series winner (preliminary-level), and placed 6th in the Acura Grand Prix (his first ever grand prix).
2003 Results: Ilian began his career with Ian Millar ("Captain Canada") with superb results.
2004 Results: Ilian continues to show he has exactly what it takes to win, and keep winning while staying sound and breeding concurrently.
2005 Results: 2005 was Ilian's first year at the big league GP level. He competed in seven GPs and placed in five of them, including the $100,000 GP in Florida. He is aimed at the World Cup series in 2006.
2006 Results: Ilian was 2nd in the $50,000 GP in Ocala, and competed in the $100,000 with a good result. He placed in nearly every GP he entered, finishing his season competing in his first CSI*** in Kentucky.
2007 Results: Ilian has show jumped at the World Cup level, and has many placings in International Grand Prix. In his last GP in Florida in 2007, under Aaron Vale, we are thrilled to announce that he won it. On his return to Canada, Ilian switched to the sport of 3-day eventing. Ilian is bold, fast and jumps into and over water with ease. He has earned many 1st places at the prelim level in his first year and we fully expect him to make his international debut in 2008. With his phenominal results, Ilian helped both Garry Roque and Ruth Armstrong achieve the 2007 titles of OHTA Leading Male and Female Rider. Ilian will now be campaigned with an eye to the 2010 WEG.

Famous Relatives: Narcos II, Ondine du Mesnil, Mazarin V, Bibelot, Gemini, Fair Play III, Alme, Ibrahim, Furioso, Night & Day, Jus de Pomme, Orange Peel, The Last Orange, Jalisco B, Galoubet, I Love You, Quito de Baussy.
Ilian's sire, Narcos II, is one of the most famous French horses ever. He was 2nd in the world sire rankings for show jumpers in 1999, behind Ramiro Z, but ahead of Voltair. Narcos II has sired 36 approved stallions and 351 big money winners. Many have been international and Olympic horses such as Viking du Tillard, Valiska For Ever and Twist du Vallon (AGA horse of the year). Narcos II himself has been a top competitive stallion since the age of 4, and later became a member of the French Olympic team. The Narcos II family tree is just as incredible and heavily populated with international athletes.
Equally as important is the dam line. Ilian's dam, Ondine du Mesnil, herself a GP jumper, has produced 5 top class money winners. Her dam, Guetna du Mesnil, produced 13 top money winners, 2 of which are the approved international stallions Glory du Banco and Nelfo du Mesnil. The 3rd dam, Tenenbrausse D, produced 14 competitive and international winners, and 2 international approved stallions, Opaline du Mesnil and Eurostar. Ilian's dam sire, Le Pontet, and grand dam sire, Night & Day, between them have sired over 70 international horses in all 3 disciplines. Many are also approved stallions.
The family tree of Ilian De Taute, Family No 137, is one of the best competitive re-producing pedigrees available today.
