Fact File:
Height: 17.0 hh
Colour: Mahogany Bay
Markings: White Star with Black Points
DOB: 3 May 1993
Bone: 10"
Temperament: A real sweetheart, easy to deal with, very much a 'people' horse that just loves to work, and he is a very quick learner.
Progeny: Frenchman's first foal crop was on the ground in 2003. His foals have his wonderful bone and temperament, and have subsequently proven to be very competitive under tack, winning in all three disciplines and in several championships in YEH classes. They are very well put together and amateur friendly, and have also been winning on-the-line classes. Frenchman's filly foal "Rumour Has It" was 3rd in the CWHBA 2005 foal futurity. Frenchman's colt foal "Quattro d'Orange" won the 2005 USA event type breeding championship. Pele d'Orange was 5th at the 2007 OHTA Entry Championship at his second ever event. Tangeroo d'Orange placed 6th in the 2007 CWHBA Foal Futurity in an exceptionally large class.
Achievements: Frenchman is special. There is no other way to describe this horse. He is majestic, athletic, and has a temperament second to none. Added to that are his bloodlines: Le Tot de Semilly is one of the worlds most prolific show jumpers today, having won over 85 International GP, and was recently honoured in France as one of the worlds top jumping and producing stallions. Born in France, Frenchman was competing on the young stallion circuit with impressive and successful performances. Unfortunately, as a 5 year-old, Frenchman had an injury which has prevented him from competing for 3 years. Frenchman has inherited his father's huge athletic jump, he is short coupled and well balanced with an amazing temperament and he really loves to work. Frenchman has very correct gaits and a lot of elevation. He will suit both TBs and Warmbloods, and his pedigree is hard to match in North America. Frenchman successfully returned to competition in 2002.
2002 Results: Frenchman had a fantastic return to competition in 2002, both eventing and show-jumping. As a Jumper, he competed in several jumper division championships up to modified Grand Prix, and was the Reserve Champion (only behind Ilian de Taute!) for the Triple Crown series. As an Eventer, Frenchman had clear stadium and x-country performances, and obtained 9's during dressage tests.
2003 Results: In 2003, Frenchman began his eventing career with Peter Gray, placing 3rd in the Ontario Regional Championship and finishing 4th overall in the Preliminary level in Ontario.
2004 Results: Frenchman moved up to the Intermediate division in Ocala, Florida with ease and superb results. He was always in the ribbons and his dressage scores were always in the top few.
2005 Results: Frenchman completed his 2** CIC in Talahasse, Florida with Peter Gray. Frenchman obtained his Gold Premium status as a Sport Horse. In 2006, Frenchman will be competing in Intermediate and aiming for a 2** with Ruth. Watch this boy!
2006 Results: Due to a foot injury, Frenchman took 2006 off.
2007 Results: Frenchman went to Florida with Ruth and has been slowly reintroduced to both jumping and eventing with Ruth in the tack. Frenchman should be very competitive in 2008.

Famous Relatives: Frenchman's pedigree on both Sire and Dam side is populated with famous names in all disciplines: Le Tot de Semilly, Alme, Grand Veneur, Girondine, Ultimate, Ibrahim, Night & Day, Tanagra and Venue Du Tot.
Le Tot de Semilly, Frenchman's sire, is one of the current show-jumping "greats", both in personal performance and in reproducing outstanding international performers. Le Tot de Semilly was the Grand European show-jumping champion in 1988 and 1991. He has won 22 International Grand Prix and 63 National Grand Prix competitions. Le Tot de Semilly has sired no less than 100 internationally acclaimed offspring, including Birdy du Gisors, European medallist in 97, Diamont du Semilly (exported to the USA), and Ultimee du Chemin (exported to Switzerland) to name just a few! His grand sire, Grand Veneur, was himself both an incredible athlete and also produced 320 big money winners, including the internationally approved stallions: Major de la Cour, Tenor de la Cour and Thurin.
Le Tot de Semilly's dam, Venue du Tot, a descendant of the great Ultimate, has produced top athletes every year who have gone on to become international athletes in all three disciplines (dressage, eventing and showjumping). These include the approved stallions HN Le Plantero and HN Perle de Plantro. Frenchman's dam is a direct daughter of the great Alme (the sire of all sires): this bloodline needs no introduction!
Frenchman is for the serious breeder who wants performance, pedigree and substance.
